EXPERIENCE

District of Columbia ARMY National guard (DC)                                        January 2003- Current

Combat Medic (91W) – Specialist (E-4)

Trained to administer Basic Life Support in both medical and trauma emergencies. Drill monthly with a Medical company providing medical support for the entire District of Columbia. Operate ECG, Spectravision, and dental x-rays machines. Administer vaccines. Trained to start IVs and saline locks, draw blood, administer Foley catheters and Combitubes, perform needle decompressions, assist with labor, and collect stool and sputum samples. Written SOAP notes. Graduated with honors from the 16-week (91W) Combat Medic training at Fort Sam Houston, TX.. Nationally registered as an Emergency Medical Technician. Completed BASIC training at Fort Sill, OK.

 

Senate judiciary committee/Senator Leahy (DC)                                       June 2004 - Current

Law Clerk

Researched judicial nominations. Wrote issue briefs on a variety of political issues (e.g., international trade law and intellectual property). Drafted Congressional correspondence for Senator Leahy. Attended Senate committee hearings.

 

Jean carnahan for Missouri Committee (MO)                                             April 2002- November 2002

Deputy Political Director

Developed and maintained issue surrogate networks by working closely with constituent groups such as Women’s Organizations, Environmental groups, and Labor Unions.  Spearheaded a rural county outreach program in 110 counties that successfully IDed marginal voters, provided for visibility at local events, sign distribution, letters to the editor, and GOTV programs.  Managed the interns, 3 field staff and the largest volunteer program in MO history (over 4000 volunteers statewide).

 

Loni Hancock for California State Assembly (CA)                                     January 2002- March 2002

Field Manager

Managed a field staff of 3 FTE and hundreds of volunteers.  Coordinated a voter identification program consisting of a 27 line phone bank, precinct walking, and candidate visibility and successfully IDed  12,500 voters.  Improved and expanded the volunteer recruitment plan which tripled the number of volunteers.  Advanced the candidate to community events and fundraisers.  Acted as a liaison to the media and community organizations.  Developed a local media strategy.  Wrote talking points and assembled candidate briefing packets. Directed the volunteer operations during GOTV. WON!
